What Is an Elopement? A Guide to Intimate Weddings in Cappadocia

A trend that's been rapidly rising worldwide in recent years: elopement. So what exactly is it, and why is Cappadocia such a perfect destination for it?

What Is an Elopement?

An elopement is an intimate wedding ceremony held just between the couple (or with a very small number of loved ones), instead of a traditional large wedding. No stress, no crowds, no drama — just you, your love, and a stunning location.

Why Is It Becoming More Popular?

  • Stress-free: Instead of planning a wedding for hundreds of guests, you focus entirely on the two of you
  • Budget-friendly: A far more special experience for a fraction of a big wedding's budget
  • Meaningful: Focusing on what you actually want, rather than everyone else's expectations
  • Adventurous: Combining your wedding with a travel experience
  • Photos: Shooting in stunning locations without a crowd

Why Is Cappadocia Ideal?

Cappadocia is one of the world's most sought-after elopement destinations. Here's why:

A natural backdrop: Fairy chimneys, valleys, and balloons — a stage no other venue can offer.

Romantic hotels: Cave hotels can serve as both accommodation and ceremony venue.

Easy to organize: Officiants, florists, decorators — experienced teams are available to coordinate everything (including us!).

Access: Direct flights from Istanbul and Ankara, and it's reachable from Europe too.

What Does an Elopement Day Look Like?

Morning: Getting Ready

Hair, makeup, and dressing at your cave hotel. These moments get photographed too — some of the most intimate shots happen right here.

Midday: The Ceremony

A short, meaningful ceremony at your chosen location with an officiant present. You read your vows and exchange rings.

Afternoon: Couple's Shoot

Photo and video across different locations. You'll spend 2-3 hours touring Cappadocia's most beautiful spots.

Evening: Celebration

A romantic dinner at a special restaurant or on your hotel's terrace.

The Legal Process

Some documents are required for a legal marriage in Turkey:

- Passport (for foreign nationals)

- Birth certificate (apostilled)

- Certificate of no impediment to marriage

- Health report

We also guide you through the legal process and coordinate with the officiant.
