10 Golden Rules for Your Wedding Photos

If you want your wedding photos to turn out perfectly, arriving prepared on shoot day matters enormously. Here are 10 golden rules we've put together from years of experience.

1. Meet Your Photographer Beforehand

Instead of meeting for the first time on shoot day, grab a coffee beforehand and get to know each other. Feeling comfortable is the single most important factor for natural poses.

2. Don't Miss the Golden Hour

The hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset are known in photography as the "golden hour." During these hours the light is soft, warm, and flattering. In Cappadocia, this time of day is especially magical.

3. Relax — Don't Try to Pose

The most beautiful photos happen in the moments when you're not trying to pose. Look at each other, laugh, talk — we'll capture those moments. Natural always beats a perfect pose.

4. Choose Your Outfits Carefully

Pick colors that complement Cappadocia's earthy tones. White, cream, beige, blush pink, and light shades all produce wonderful results. Avoid very bright colors and large patterns.

5. Don't Forget Accessories

A veil, hat, bouquet, or colorful shawl adds movement and depth to photos. Lightweight fabrics fluttering in the wind look stunning in Cappadocia.

6. Bring Comfortable Shoes

You may need to walk between locations. Wear your dress shoes during the shoot itself, but always have a comfortable pair with you.

7. Plan Your Time

Rushing shows in the photos. Give yourselves enough time — a minimum of 2-3 hours is ideal. Factor in travel time between locations too.

8. Watch the Weather, but Don't Panic

Cloudy weather actually produces wonderful photos — the light gets diffused and there's no harsh shadow problem. Even light rain can create dramatic, romantic frames. Only heavy rain or storms change the plan.

9. Sunscreen and Makeup

You'll be spending a long time outdoors. Use sunscreen, but choose a matte formula over a shiny/oily one. Make sure your makeup is done with long-lasting products.

10. Enjoy the Moment

The most important rule: live in the moment. The photos will turn out beautiful because that's what we take care of. All you need to do is enjoy being together.
